Where the impressive Salad & Sandwich Bar stall is located within the old fish market, you are still able to view parts of the orginal stall that used to be M & E Sheehan's, which started trading in early 1906....
The stall is an impressive sight on any day, offering coffee and refreshments to weary shoppers, as well as beautiful gourmet sandwiches made with the freshest of ingredients every morning. Little delicasies are also on offer, such as tasty Greek 'dolmades', the refresing 'tzatziki' that can be used as a dip, or slices of 'halvas' for those seeking a sweet treat.
If you are looking for fresh home-made soup to accompany your sandwich or just soup by itself then take a seat and taste one of the markets hidden treasures. Come early at lunch time as the queue can be quite long, however the wait is well worth it.
All of the foodstuff and refreshments are available for take-away. Open from early morning until late afternoon.
